"Throw: It thru your Speakers" Poet Collective acknowledges the creative play space existing between the audience and the performer/s as a place of dialogue, witnessing and possibility. When piece of work--be it a lyric, a line from a poem or a bass line is traveling to it's recipient--(the reciever on the other end of the speakers) it has left the artist but has not yet arrived into the minds of the audience. The transfer is not complete and the action is still wedged between the notions of fiction and reality. Throw Collective is interested in exploring what happens in this liminal space. All projects, events and performances are related to this exploration in some way--be it at a poetry slam where audience members actually become performers or at an improv jam where the artists are reliant on their ears in oder to respond and make an attempt to harmonize. Come out to one of our monthly slams and participate in the blurring of the play space once the scores have been tallied and the room is a collection of molecules observing, witnessing and reflecting. To throw yourself thru the speakers is to be exactly between where you've come from and where your going.
To get involved please send a one page introduction and sample of your work to throwradio@yahoo.com
The next collective meeting is on October 19th 2007.
